I wonder why did I not find this hotel earlier in my life, since it taught me many important lessons of the life. Don't believe? Please read now. 1. Do not be attached to the material possessions The hotel does not provide a tea kettle in the room, since probably they believe that a morning cup of tea is unhealthy. Even if you order tea, it can be served only after 8 am, by which time probably you may not even feel the need of it. TV remotes do not work, so that you are not distracted by the disturbing news or any other program. 2. Lesser is Better The served omelet without salt or pepper, probably out of concern for my BP. Toasts were served without jam or preserve, again probably out of sheer concern for my diabetes. For toasts, omelet & two cups of coffee, they provided just one spoon & one knife & no fork. This was only to train me to think out of box. I used one end of the spoon to apply butter (very thoughtfully provided by the hotel!), & the other end to stir the coffee. For omelet, I just used my hand! Why I did not ask for a fork or additional spoon - because it would have delayed my breakfast by minimum 30 minutes, since that was the average response time for any request. They do not confuse you with lot many options for breakfast. It is just either Idly or omelet. This is done so that you do not waste time in deciding what to eat. 3. Minimalistic Environment They take this concept very seriously. So they do not provide a mug in the bathroom. Even old air fresheners are, including one which was ripped by someone (see the picture), were not replaced. No hooks are provided in the bathroom to hang your discarded clothes before a shower. Did I not tell you about minimalistic environment? The soap dish was without a base. Minimalistic, you know! (See the picture) 4. Be mindful before every step For this lesson, they ensured that the bathroom floor was wet. We checked-in in the evening & were amazed to see efforts taken by them to not let the floor dry up. Probably for this purpose, they had not put up a shower curtain in the bathroom, else only the limited shower area would become wet & not the entire bathroom floor. And that would have delayed our learning. 5. Art of remaining undisturbed We were getting different types of noises from the rooms on our either side. Noise of TV, people laughing & talking, all this till 3 - am. By then we perfected the art of remaining calm & try to sleep even in the midst of these earthly distractions. Bed was not comfortable, else it would have induced us to sleep more. They also ensure that when you are taking shower, suddenly the water would stop coming. What do you do then? Remain calm & wait for water to start coming. This hotel saved me lot of money & trouble. Because, after my visit to this hotel, I have given up the idea of going to Himalay for attaining "moksh".

During my recent family trip to Bangalore, I stayed there for 5 nights. Its situated at the most happening place M.G.Road area.So no doubt its situated in the best location of Bangalore. Except location, everything was just ok.Small rooms, small bathroom. And breakfast was very poor, which is fixed and it was provided in the room. But their restaurant food was very nice.we had 2 dinners there,n it was delicious. Front desk staffs were cooperative and tried to accommodate as per our wish. They also arranged vehicle for our sightseeing to Mysore and another to Wonderla. Overall an Ok type hotel in a very Prime location

The property is located at a prime location, easily identified by all, on Church street, off MG Road and Brigade Road. The entrance and reception area is spacious and well maintained. Initially, at the time of check in, the response from reception was lukewarm and the room I was checked into (room# 404), was tiny, to say the least. The bed occupied 90% of the room, and there was a pillar at the other side of the bed, which made the room even smaller. Had a strip for a bathroom, in which I literally had to jump over the commode to reach the bathing area. And to top that, the door handle of the room was broken, so every time I had to get into the room, I had to call room service to open the door for me. Naturally I was unhappy, and I inquired about an upgrade, and pleasantly enough they assessed my dissatisfaction, and offered to upgrade to a bigger room at no extra cost. The behaviour at the reception, also turned to the warmer side. Was accommodated into room 405 the next evening, which was almost double the size (still on the smaller side, but acceptable). I found the staff to be really warm and forthcoming, service was prompt, good housekeeping, rooms fittings and fixtures well maintained and the food pretty good (Empire restaurant is well known In Bangalore). On the cons....both the rooms did not allow much daylight, the breakfast was limited and served in the room and the rooms were on the smaller side. Overall, a good option for a short stay, service and food being the differentiators.

The reception is clean although the welcome to the hotel was not very warm. We were checked in efficiently though and our luggage taken for us quickly. The rooms were a little dated but quite clean. The bathrooms are badly designed as once you have had a shower, all of the bathroom is quite wet including the toilet seat. Breakfast is brought up to your room for no extra charge. A continental breakfast of omelette and toast is average (but you can ask for boiled eggs although have to wait for 15 mins for these) or your can opt for an Indian breakfast of dosa (savoury pancake) and yoghurt, which were apparently very good. If you like Indian music, the music channels are good, and I even found 'Graham Norton's show' and 'Friends' one evening while scanning. It's good value for money, but not clean enough for me unfortunately.
